Crockpot turkey chili is a great dish to make for two reasons. First of all it’s healthy, full of protein and vegetables. Second of all, it’s easy. All you need to do is prep and put these ingredients in a slow cooker. Leave the chili to cook and simmer and a few hours later all just scoop and server.
To get started you first need to chop up 2 red peppers and1 medium cooking onion. In a skillet pour 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Then place the chopped up vegetables in the skillet and sauté for 5-10 minutes. While the vegetables are cooking, spray your crockpot with cooking spray.
After that you can drain and put 2 cans of canned turkey into the crockpot. When the vegetables are ready, pour them into the crockpot as well. Also add 1 can of black beans, 1 can of kidney beans, 2 cans of tomato sauce and 2 tablespoons of chili powder. Mix all the ingredients together well so everything is evenly dispersed.
The finished steps are to cover the crockpot and let the chili cook either on low heat for 6 hours or high heat for 4 hours. Taste test the chili and add salt and pepper to taste. When the tasty turkey chili is ready it should be served warm and can be topped with shredded cheese, sour cream or guacamole.
